At Seacrest Medical Centre, we take pride in our commitment to providing quality care to all our patients. Our practice is a private billing practice we will continue to bulk bill our Pension card holders, Veteran Affairs and children 12years and under.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

+ Appointments

We work on an appointment system you can call the practice to book your appointment or alternatively use our online booking system Hotdoc.

+ Walk- in Appointments

We always accept walk-in patients, however, there may be an unavoidable wait as priority is given to patients with a booked appointment. Emergencies and urgent cases will always be given priority.

+ Home Visits

Seacrest Medical Centre provides a locum service for those patients who require a home visit after hours. During the clinic opening hours, the Practice Gp’s will offer home visits at their discretion. Where appropriate, a home visit will be offered depending on circumstances and considering safety of all staff.

To obtain a home visit during clinic hours it needs to be safe and reasonable for the GP, and within a 5km radius of the clinic. When the patient is triaged and a home or other visit is deemed neither safe nor reasonable, a telephone consultation will be offered.

+ Accounts

We are a private billing practice. Patient with a Valid Pension Card, DVA patients and children 12years and under will be bulk billed Monday – Friday with a booked appointment. There are certain appointments/procedures that will incur a private fee, please check with reception.

Payment is required on the day of the consultation and can be made by cash, EFTPOS or credit card ( excluding Diner & Amex)

+ Emergencies

Unfortunately, sometimes emergencies do occur. Priority will always be given to those patients presenting with an emergency. Please inform reception staff on arrival if you are having difficulty breathing, chest pain, serious injury or infectious disease.

+Telephone Calls

In most cases our reception or nursing staff can assist you with you enquiry. If you wish to speak to your doctor regrading a medical concern, it is recommended that you make an appointment.

+Repeat Prescriptions

An appointment is required for all prescriptions

+ Repeat Referrals

If you require a referral, or a renewal of a referral to a specialist, please make an appointment to discuss this with your doctor.

+Results

All test results are checked by the referring doctor. If you would like to discuss the results of your test please book an appointment. For privacy reasons results will only be given by the doctor.

+Did Not Attend Fee

If you fail to give our practice a minimum 4 hours’ notice to cancel your schedule appointment or do not attend your appointment a fee of $65 will be incurred.

+ Suggestions and Complaints

Any suggestions you may have for our practice to help us to provide better service would be appreciated. Feedback forms are available at reception. Should you have any concerns or wish to make a complaint please contact the practice Manager.
